ABOUT BIR

Bir is a small village in Himachal Pradesh, widely known as the Paragliding capital of India. Bir-Billing is the second-highest and one of the safest paragliding site in the World. There are so many mesmerising and unrequited activities to do in Bir. The paragliding take-off site is at Billing at an elevation of 2400 meters, while the landing site and most tourist accommodations are in the village of Chowgan.

Despite being famous for paragliding, Bir has much more to offer. Splendid views of the Dhauladhar Himalayas, Waterfall, and attractive Buddhist monasteries. One can see prayer flags hanging in the monasteries and on the trees around this beautiful village. Traditionally, prayer flags are mostly hung outside so the wind can carry the prayers to the world for the benefit of all sentient beings.

The best time to visit Bir Billing is either the summer months from March to June or the Autumn months, September to November. During Monsoons due to heavy rainfall, paragliding is closed from 15th July to 15th August.
